blessed

We are immensely blessed and it is never more evident than at Christmastime.

another day, another farm

The Middle Tennessee/Kentucky region has this whole fall pumpkin patch thing down. We were invited to visit a new one tonight with our dear friends. It was a blast with live bluegrass music, animals and a bonfire. We also did a nighttime hay ride and picked pumpkins by lantern light. We finished the night off with some warm apple cider. Yum!

back at the farm

We made our yearly pilgrimage to Christian Way Farm again. We just love this place. Austin was elated to discover a train made of mow-mows. It was like a dream for him.

Very serious mow-mowing!

It was our CC community's field trip so the girls had all their friends.

He was SO TIRED. I looked back and he had just decided to take a break in the middle of the road.

letters to my children: my other big girl

You are not a little girl anymore. You are strong and opinionated, you are beautiful. God has shaped and changed you so much this year and it is exciting to watch. Your mind works in amazing ways and your passions are so intense they are almost blinding.

Irreplaceable. Incomparable.

Cling to the Lord, precious girl. When things seem insurmountable or the tremendous tide of emotions that stir inside of you threaten to spill over, HE is the only one who can help you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

letters to my children: little man

You are growing up so fast. You are getting taller. You speak new phrases and sentences every day. You are emotional and a problem solver. You are fascinated with anything mechanical, with a special place for planes, helicopters and “trucks of trash.”  I love you so much, my little man.  Some day you are going to be a powerful man of God. I see evidence of your heart every day the way you are empathetic of your sisters when they are hurt or even “Bear” on your favorite show.

My prayer for you is that your strength and personality be used for amazing things that glorify the Lord. That you will grow into a man of honor. Courageous and leading. Fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. Loving and faithful, walking with the Lord.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
